Giving Back: LFC Boston’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive

‘Tis the Season for Giving!

Nothing is better than seeing kids’ faces light up during the holidays while unwrapping presents. This December, LFC Boston is sponsoring a Toy Drive for Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD).

Established in 1962, Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD)
is Boston’s official anti-poverty agency and services over 85,000 low-income
Greater Boston residents. Their annual toy drive has been in existence for over 30 years and during that time they have been able to donate toys to thousands of underprivileged children in the Boston area.

The toy drive is an important yearly effort that allows us to bring a little
extra cheer to many families who otherwise may not have had the financial
ability to provide for their families at this very important time of the year.

The launch of our toy drive will be at the upcoming LFC Boston Ugly Sweater Holiday Party on Dec. 6 at the Phoenix Landing, 5-9 p.m. You will learn more details about the Toy Drive and select a child’s wish list at this event.

Toy donations will be accepted during the following LFC matches:

  • Tue, Dec. 9 vs. Basel
  • Sun, Dec. 14 vs. Manchester United
  • Wed, Dec. 17 vs. Bournemouth

If you are unable to get to the Phoenix Landing but are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact Kristine McKenna, LFC Boston’s Charity and Outreach Coordinator at KristineMcKenna@LFCBoston.com.

Liverpool v Newcastle, Priority Entry for LFC Boston Members this Sunday

This Sunday, LFC Boston members will have priority entry to the Phoenix Landing for Championship Sunday. Need I tell you that LFC could still win the title this year!

Doors will open at 8:30am. LFC Boston Members Only will be allowed in to the bar 8:30-8:45am. (15 minute window) Simply skip the line and show your member card to the bouncer.

Non-members will not be allowed into the bar until 8:45am sharp. There will be no exceptions.

One member card = one entry.

If you are a member and arrive after 8:45am, you will have to get in line with everyone else as priority entry WILL NOT apply after 8:45am.

I advise members to get to the Landing no later than 8:15am. There will be one line for members and one line for general admission.

NBC will be at the Landing on Sunday and want to do live shots of LFC Boston singing before, during, and after the game. Bring your scarves and flags, and your singing voice and let’s show America and the world, what our wonderful supporters club is all about. Also, please post your photos to Twitter using #LFCBoston, #PHXSoccer, and #BPLonNBC and we’ll ReTweet them during the game on the @LFCBoston account – so will NBC and the Phoenix Landing.

We are Liverpool.
(If you are not a member but want to watch the game with LFC Boston on Sunday, you are advised to get in line as early as possible.) Once members get into the bar, there will be room for 40-60 LFC fans through general admission.

How would you like the opportunity to write for LFC Boston’s official blog, The Red Letter?

Well now’s your chance to broadcast your Reds-related views, musings and memories to thousands of fellow supporters across the globe on our blog.

You can embrace your nostalgic side by blogging about your favorite ever LFC player or moment, your first Reds match or memories of a particularly eventful trek into the unknown to follow the team in Europe – the choice is totally yours.

Many of our writers are currently based in or near to Boston, and attend Liverpool games at the Phoenix Landing on a weekly basis. However, we also employ bloggers from far afield and ultimately, The Red Letter wants to hear from Reds who are great writers and simply want to write about LFC. We also would love to hear from people who could write about Liverpool in languages other than English. Continue reading
