Giving Back: LFC Boston’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive

‘Tis the Season for Giving!

Nothing is better than seeing kids’ faces light up during the holidays while unwrapping presents. This December, LFC Boston is sponsoring a Toy Drive for Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD).

Established in 1962, Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD)
is Boston’s official anti-poverty agency and services over 85,000 low-income
Greater Boston residents. Their annual toy drive has been in existence for over 30 years and during that time they have been able to donate toys to thousands of underprivileged children in the Boston area.

The toy drive is an important yearly effort that allows us to bring a little
extra cheer to many families who otherwise may not have had the financial
ability to provide for their families at this very important time of the year.

The launch of our toy drive will be at the upcoming LFC Boston Ugly Sweater Holiday Party on Dec. 6 at the Phoenix Landing, 5-9 p.m. You will learn more details about the Toy Drive and select a child’s wish list at this event.

Toy donations will be accepted during the following LFC matches:

  • Tue, Dec. 9 vs. Basel
  • Sun, Dec. 14 vs. Manchester United
  • Wed, Dec. 17 vs. Bournemouth

If you are unable to get to the Phoenix Landing but are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact Kristine McKenna, LFC Boston’s Charity and Outreach Coordinator at

This Sunday, LFC Boston members will have priority entry to the Phoenix Landing for Championship Sunday. Need I tell you that LFC could still win the title this year!

Doors will open at 8:30am. LFC Boston Members Only will be allowed in to the bar 8:30-8:45am. (15 minute window) Simply skip the line and show your member card to the bouncer.

Non-members will not be allowed into the bar until 8:45am sharp. There will be no exceptions.

One member card = one entry.

If you are a member and arrive after 8:45am, you will have to get in line with everyone else as priority entry WILL NOT apply after 8:45am.

I advise members to get to the Landing no later than 8:15am. There will be one line for members and one line for general admission.

NBC will be at the Landing on Sunday and want to do live shots of LFC Boston singing before, during, and after the game. Bring your scarves and flags, and your singing voice and let’s show America and the world, what our wonderful supporters club is all about. Also, please post your photos to Twitter using #LFCBoston, #PHXSoccer, and #BPLonNBC and we’ll ReTweet them during the game on the @LFCBoston account – so will NBC and the Phoenix Landing.

We are Liverpool.
(If you are not a member but want to watch the game with LFC Boston on Sunday, you are advised to get in line as early as possible.) Once members get into the bar, there will be room for 40-60 LFC fans through general admission.

Boston Children’s Hospital is ranked #1 in more specialties than any other pediatric hospital by U.S. News & World Report. Here are a few reasons why:

  • ImageThe hospital’s patient care programs provide the best, most innovative care possible.
  • Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children’s lives.
  • Boston Children’s welcomes kids whose families can’t afford health care–more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
  • Community programs makes a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.

And the hospital doesn’t just stop there. Boston Children’s really understands the importance of training the next generation of top children’s healthcare providers.

Support the hospital by joining Team LFC Boston or making a gift to one of our team members.

Man United 0-3 Liverpool – Rodgers Can Make Reds Reign Again

By Jonathan Carroll

Realistic expectations for this current Liverpool squad were a top four finish at the start of the season. Some television pundits thought even that was a bridge too far. There have been many questions arising over the course of the season in relation to how Liverpool would fare. Brendan Rodgers has without question, been learning on the job (see Southampton at home). What is clear however is that he has a philosophy and an adaptability with a squad of players whom he had no hand in purchasing. His coaching ability is there for all to see and this Liverpool team are gaining momentum at just the right time. Continue reading

Thanks to the Corner Pub for hosting us!

Congratulations to Greg Ahern on winning the coveted prize. Continue reading
