Jose Enrique Out Six Weeks with Hamstring Injury

 By Kevin Koczwara

Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique will miss six weeks of action with a hamstring tear. Liverpool’s official site confirmed the Spaniard’s injury today, ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup match with Mansfield Town. Enrique suffered the injury in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over QPR on Dec. 30.

“He has looked fantastic in the games but it looks like he’ll probably be out for up to six weeks with his hamstring,” Reds’ manager Brendan Rodgers told the media today.

Enrique had enjoyed renewed form since being one of the players singled-out by Rodgers as someone who needed to improve in the squad. The injury comes at the end of the busy holiday season for the club and meant that Glen Johnson had to move to left back on Wednesday with Andre Wisdom coming back into the side on the right of the defense.
