“Having Daniel [Sturridge] come in the door and Fabio Borini returning from injury will be great for us and that’ll give us the flexibility within the group,” Rodgers told Buxton today.
Borini was Rodgers’ first signing as Liverpool manager. The club paid £10.5 million to pry away the 21-year-old from Roma. Rodgers worked with him previously when he was a youth coach at Chelsea and Borini was a much heralded youngster and again when Rodgers brought the Italian International on loan to Swansea City. Borini was part of the side that got promoted from the Championship to the Premier League.
