BOSTON – Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the team’s newest player Fabio Borini will skip vacation time offered by the club for his time spent at the European Championship this summer with Italy. He will join the team in Boston next week when the England international players arrive.
“[Borini] was due to come back the first of August, but he made it very clear when he came over that he wanted to get back training with the group, so we made an agreement that he will come out next week,” Rodgers told the media during his first press conference of the team’s North American tour. “We’re looking forward to seeing him. He’s obviously very committed and determined to do well. And I’m sure he’ll play some part in some of the games when he comes over.”
The forward made the move from Roma to Liverpool last week only weeks after being part of the Italian national side that made it to the finals of the Euros and lost to Spain.
