The season ended for Liverpool in a very low profile fashion against already relegated Queens Park Rangers. The last game of the season was also the last game ever for Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. Queens Park Rangers comes to Anfield on Sunday as the curtain draws on what has been a disappointing season, to say the least, for home side Liverpool. Fulham 1-3 Liverpool – Sturridge and Coutinho Steal the Show

Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool team traveled to Craven Cottage on Sunday without Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and Luis Suarez. Fringe players like Sebastian Coates, Jonjo Shelvey and Andre Wisdom all got the call to start from Rodgers. Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool – Reds Run Riot

In a week where Liverpool found themselves issuing statements for the conduct of Luis Suarez. The English media then decided to blow the incident out of all proportion with over the top coverage. Make no mistake, what Suarez done was wrong. It has no place on the pitch. He is however a footballer, not a contender for the Nobel Peace Prize. There are more heinous acts carried out on the football pitch. The FA needs an overhaul as Kenny Dalglish wrote during the week. Continue reading

Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool – Henderson Leads Reds to Villa Victory

Liverpool produced a resurgent second half performance to secure three points at Villa Park on Sunday. Initially it looked as if Christian Benteke would lead the Liverpool back four a merry dance as he scored from twenty yards out after thirty-one minutes. Second half goals from Jordan Henderson and a penalty from captain Steven Gerrard enabled Liverpool to maintain in contention for European football next season. Liverpool came from behind to win away from home, a feat not produced since 2009 and something that has happened twice this season. Progressive signs perhaps under Brendan Rodgers. Continue reading
