The last game of the season was also the last game ever for Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. In stark contrast to the monotony of last weekend’s Merseyside derby, the days since have been filled with activity as first Alex Ferguson announced his decision to retire as manager of Manchester United at the end of the season and then Everton boss David Moyes was declared Fergie’s hand-picked successor.
